Eligibility Criteria:

  • 16 years of education mandatory for a Master Degree in the university.
  • Colleges also accept 15years of education for 1-year Post Graduate Certificate course.
  • International students must have the required English language proficiency. Minimum criteria for IELTS 7.0 and TOEFL is 8 IBT.
  • Students from Engineering background have to appear for GRE and have to score minimum 300 for admission into university.
  • GRE is not mandatory for all university but few like McGill University and for Top universities students should have 85% and moderate University 75% above
  • SAT is not required for undergraduate study, but few of them.

University and College Intake:

There are three major admission cycle in Canada

  • Fall: August/September
  • Winter: January/February
  • Summer: May( not for international students)

Timeline for application:

  • Ideal time to begin application for a smooth process should be 8 months prior to the academic cycle one is aiming to. This is pertaining to university applications.
  • Colleges don’t have any deadline for application. They have seats available on a first come basis.
  • University generally takes 6 to 10 weeks to process the application.

Note:

Universities have regular deadlines generally till 15th Feb. Colleges have rolling deadlines offering rolling admission. Instead of collecting applications and issuing admission letters, admission officers at rolling admission schools offer applicants as they arrive.

Due to heavy competition students are suggested to submit their application as soon as possible before December.

Living expenses in Canada largely depend on the province students are choosing their university and college in. There are three types of accommodation students can avail to. Private accommodation outside campus, In campus accommodation and homestay. Living expenses in Canada are lesser than most countries like the USA, UK and Australia. The cost for living is 10000 CAD $ per year on average.

Tuition fees in Canada depends whether the student chooses to take admission in university or college 11000$ to 28000$.

Post Study Work Right:

20hours per week and students can work full time during Public Holidays and their semester breaks.

Programs longer than 2years gives you the opportunity to work up to 3 years.If students choosing to take up programs for 1year/8months are entitled to stay back as that of the course.

VISA REQUIREMENTS:

In order to study in Canada, students need to obtain a Canadian Study Permit, which serves as a Canadian student visa. This permit allows students to work part time on campus as well. Visa to be done totally Online.
